NEW! Harbron Canvas Carriers

Launch date: 8th September @ 7pm

Dear Artists,

I am super excited to announce that the Harbron Plein Air range is expanding on September 8th with my new wet painting carriers.

The Harbron Canvas Carriers accommodates up to two panels and/or stretched canvases, and holds them secure and protected for transportation.

The unique design features include:

  • A clever retaining lip that eliminates interference with the wet surface of your painting.
  • Genuine VelcroⓇ retaining straps that work independantly to make placement and removal of paintings easier, whilst keeping them fully secure during transit.
  • An adaptor that enables a smaller painting to be carried.
  • Larger Canvas Carriers have super strong and durable handles hand-woven from high quality paracord 550.
  • Every part of the Canvas Carry is servicable and replaceable to help extend and maximise the lifetime of the product.

⮝ How the adaptor/s enable different size panels to fit a 10x14" Canvas Carry

I believe the Harbron Canvas Carry is the best solution for carrying your wet paintings because..

  • They are highly portable, being ultra slim and very light
  • They will not damage the edges of your painting like other panel carriers, because the retaining lip is angled away from the wet surface. This reduces the contact point to the absolute minimum possible.
  • The unique retaining strap system is the best method for securing your painting safely and securely - it even works with a stretched canvas!
  • The carrier fittings are of the highest quality with stainless brackets and genuine VelcroⓇ hook and loop straps for ultimate function and durability. Where handles are fitted, super strong paracord 550 has been hand-woven with Cobra stictching.

  • Each Canvas Carry comes with an adaptor so that you can fit a different size panel or canvas*
  • Every Canvas Carry is hand made and finished to the highest standard here in the UK. These are designed to be a pleasure to look at, hold, and of course, use.

Sizes available (inches):
  • 8 x 10 with adaptor for 8 x 8
  • 10 x 12 with adaptor for 8 x 10
  • 10 x 14 with adaptors for 10 x 12 and 8 x 10
  • 12 x 16 with adaptor for 10 x 12
Custom sizes are also available!

I make the Harbron Plein Air range here in my workshop, but I am also a full-time artist; consequently there are limitations to how many I can produce. Initially, I have only a small batch of each size available and so if you are keen to get your hands on one, be here on September 8th at 7pm, where the items will be listed live with a special one-time offer for the first to come.

I wish to point out that I give you my BEST price on all the Harbron Plein Air range, leaving no room for manoeuvre (and why you never see my items on sale unless they are a second, or discontinued). I price them to cover materials and a small labour charge based on £10/hr; yes, the Dragons would laugh me out of their den! But I love making them and I get a huge buzz from connecting with artists, seeing them use my accessories, and giving positive feedback about them; that is motivation enough. I didn't become an artist to get rich or for an easy life - and it is far from easy! It does hurt when people describe my items as 'expensive'. But I understand. I started making my own kit because I couldn't afford to buy it. I started selling my handmade kit to take the pressure off selling my art (it hasn't!). So the prices are carefully considered to be as low as I can go, without joepardising the viability of Harbron Plein Air and my ability to continue serving the plein air community. I am on a mission to provide the highest quality accessories with highest quality service at the best possible price, because that's what I'm passionate about.

Keep an eye on instagram (#harbrongallery) and Facebook (#alexharbron) and of course this website for updates. I'm off for a final field test of my Harbron Canvas Carriers before launch: a trip to Skye ;)

Happy painting!

Alex

* The adaptors are designed to work with panels only. You can fit a full-size stretched canvas to the carrier frame, but a smaller canvas cannot be secured by the adaptor because they are primarily designed to work with panels of about 2-6mm thickness. However, I will demonstrate an easy hack for this in a forthcoming YouTube video - watch this space!
